What is the program all about?  What makes this program special and different?
The JCC Maccabi Resident Camp in Israel Program is hands-on and experiential, combining learning with travel all over Israel, sports activities, arts, music, archeological digs, and much more.

While the program is a travel experience, the community experience is based on the Jewish Camping experience in North America; developing a responsibility for oneself and for one's peers, enhancing Jewish community, building lifelong friendships, and basically creating a safe, secure and nurturing educational environment.

The program is a four week summer mifgash - a peer encounter. The JCC Maccabi Resident Camp in Israel Program will have you traveling, living and learning together with those who have had different life experiences, and who come from varying types of Jewish communities. Together, you will have many opportunities to grow and develop as young leaders in the global Jewish community. And just as important, lifelong friendships will be forged in this intensive setting.

How will the JCC Maccabi Resident Camp Program prepare you for your involvement in the Jewish community of tomorrow?
The JCC Maccabi Resident Camp Program will look at the issues of Jewish peoplehood today, and the changing roles Diaspora and Israeli Jews play. By learning about and from others, commitment to a reciprocal relationship, based on mutuality and joint endeavor, will be strengthened. In addition, the participants will actually be building their own summer community, with each participant taking on responsibilities that directly affect day-to-day life at the camp - exactly as a leader does in any setting.

The opportunity of a lifetime awaits you in this amazing four week experience. IsraelExperts™ and JCC camps bring you an unforgettable adventure in Israel. Your days and nights will include snorkeling in the Red Sea, Shabbat at the Western Wall, a night under the stars with the Bedouins, camel riding in the desert, climbing Masada at sunrise, hiking the waterfalls of Ein Gedi, taking part in real archeological digs, participating in meaningful social action, hanging out with Israeli teens, and so much more. After this incredible trip, some of you will have the skills to assume the role of CIT in your home community camp, or to take your leadership skills to other venues in your communities.
